Bisnow was honored to celebrate the top 50 women in Boston commercial real estate Monday night with 450 friends, supporters and sponsors in The State Room atop 60 State St.

Bisnow's Boston Power Women project was part of a 2014 nationwide initiative for which we profiled and celebrated the top 300 commercial real estate women in DC, NY, Dallas, Atlanta, LA and Chicago.

Avison Young principal Karyn McFarland and The Davis Co managing director Cappy Daume, both Bisnow Power Women, have known each other for decades. Kayrn is Avison’s first female partner in Boston. Cappy has been lauded as a CoStar Power Broker and one of Boston Magazine’s “100 Most Influential Women.”

Both Bisnow Power Women lead companies that are building and managing mixed-income housing with lots of affordable units. Many of their developments are in neighborhoods outside of downtown that are being rediscovered with their help.

Bisnow Power Women Cannon Design office practice leader Lynne Deninger and Nitsch Engineering CEO Lisa Brothers discussing the big projects their teams are tackling. Cannon Design is the architect and engineer of record for Novartis' $600M, three-building complex going up at 181 Mass Ave in Central Square. Lisa, who leads one of the most successful women-owned engineering firms in town, has the waterfront nailed down. They've been working on the Seaport Square master plan, Fan Pier and the BCEC hotels.

Cushman & Wakefield executive director Debra Gould (with Redgate partners Ralph Cox and Kyle Warwick) is a Bisnow Power Woman and standout leasing broker. Among her many honors, she's won the CBA's Deal of the Year Award five times (most recently in 2012).

Goulston & Storrs partner Debbie Horwitz (with Mintz Levin's Maryann Civitello) is a self-described “deal junkie” who has a passion for real estate. She represents—locally and nationally—major multifamily and retail developers in complex land-use and permitting projects.
