An Under Armour Hotel?

Apparently, 2015 is the year for Under Armour. The brand just snagged a building permit for its Brand House on Chicago’s posh Michigan Avenue last month, and now is focusing on Baltimore, Under Armor HQ. According to DCInno, Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank’s Sagamore Development broke ground on what will be a 128-room hotel at Recreation Pier in Fells Point with a pool, its own restaurant, bar and restored ballroom. Expect a lot of fit guests when the hotel—operator TBD—opens in fall 2016.

Under Armour’s Baltimore domination will continue, the Baltimore Sun reports, on a 120-acre assemblage in Port Covington. Plank and company are planning a brand-dedicated, mixed-used campus along the waterfront to include, permitting pending, a stables, Sagamore Spirits Distillery and restaurant, and eventually an Under Armor store. The company has already invested $90M in the area on land acquisitions, the publication reveals. [DCInno][Sun]
