SoBo Townhomes Move Forward

The Baltimore City Municipal Zoning and Appeals Board approved Green Door Properties’ proposal to build 39 new townhomes in South Baltimore on Tuesday. Green Door Properties would build mostly three-story, three-bedroom homes with rooftop decks, brick exteriors and garages, says AB Associates planning consultant Nate Pretl. The site would also include green space at the southern end of the property, located at 1800 S Hanover St.

A warehouse currently at the location would be demolished to make way for the homes. Prices haven’t been set, but they’ll likely be at the upper end of the market rate for that area, Nate says. It’s too soon to say when the townhomes will start construction, as the project still requires additional city approvals, Nate says. It’s the latest residential development in South Baltimore, which has more than 1,750 units in the pipeline.
