Is The Peachtree The '80s Cherry?

We heard that humorous description from Banyan Street Capital's Taylor White (on left with WeWork's Craig Pishotti at Wells Fargo Center in Miami), who was referring to The Peachtree during our South Florida Future of Office event last week in Miami.

Banyan picked up the 345k SF office tower in the heart of Midtown last year. In a conversation focused on how older office buildings can be converted to attract tech tenants, Taylor described The Peachtree as "a beautiful building. But you walk in and there's heavy dark wood millwork, sconces on the wall, an pastoral hunting scenes with quails and pheasants and a beautiful marble floor. I'm telling you, in 1987, that thing was cherry." Taylor says Banyan has since renovated the interior of the building—including painting over the millwork—to lure in tech firms, which have been growing rampantly in Midtown.
