We headed to Mess Hall in North East for Pickled, Braised and Brewed: The Art of Slow Food. We checked out a new brew, The Slow Ride Sessions, a perfect beer for gorgeous weather, by New Belgium Brewery. We snapped its reps Ryan Mauter, Ryan Kurtz, Carlee Delp and Andi Bonk with (left) Premium Distributors' Sarah Chek and Kelsi DuChene. We learned a craft brewery must be an independent venture and New Belgium is 100% employee owned.
Local craftsman gave hands-on workshops on pickling, braising meats, ceramics and craft beer. Here, Union Market's Mason Dixie Executive Chef Mo Cherry demonstrated the art behind their famous braised pork belly biscuit sandwich.
Ticket sales benefited CulturalDC, which provides space and resources for DC's emerging artists. Here, Cloudburst Advisory Group's Lisa DeBow, Booz Allen's Inga Adams and Gordys Pickle Jar's Sheila Fain.
