MGM Grand Opening!

Last night, we headed to Prince George's County for the grand opening, VIP reception of MGM National Harbor casino & resort. Thousands of guests were in attendance, and the casino's beautiful atrium was decorated for the holidays.

The event was black-tie chic, and was one of the most glamorous events of the year. We snapped friends Olivia CurryCourtney McGeachy and Cordelia Nwankwo.

All of the restaurants, including FISH by Jose Andres and Marcus by Marcus Samuelsson, treated the event as their grand opening as well, and there were dozens of bars serving delicious, custom cocktails. We particularly enjoyed the tuna tartare from FISH, the barbecue sliders from Marcus and the pork buns from Ginger. Here, Monroe and Diana Harrison with Elizabeth Hewlett.

Performers were littered throughout the massive venue. A six-piece cello choir greeted guests as they walked in and waited to check their coats. The cellists, male and female, all had fierce eye makeup on.

There was a three-piece band dressed straight out of the '50s on the second floor, and a tap dancer-DJ duo in the casino's food hall.

The night was a massive success before the casino opened to the public at 11pm. Less than an hour after it opened to the public—who flooded the gaming floor like it was Black Friday—it was at capacity. Three exits on the Beltway had to be closed. Here, Rick McCormack, Britni Flores, Dave Tracz and David Shove-Brown.
