Historical Society 121st Anniversary!

Last night we also went to The Historical Society’s 121st Anniversary Celebration at Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square. A cocktail reception was followed by presenting the Visionary Historian Award to James Goode. We snapped him with Historical Society executive director John Suau and landscape architect Darwina Neal.

Dr. Goode is the author of six books on DC history, including Capital Losses: Washington’s Destroyed Buildings and Best Addresses: 100 Years of Washington’s Distinguished Apartment Houses. His seventh book, Capital Houses: Historic Residences will be published in Nov.
