The Ed Meese Award Goes To....

Placeholder

The highest award given by the Republican National Lawyers Association was presented to Wiley Rein chairman and co-founder Dick Wiley. (We took this pic when Dick became firm chairman after nearly 30 years as managing partner. More on the transition here.) The Ed Meese Award is named for the 75th US Attorney General. Dick, a former FCC chairman, has been called the "father of HDTV" and won an Emmy for chairing the committee that developed digital TV transmission standards. He now heads Wiley Rein's 80-lawyer communications practice, the country's largest. Prior Ed Meese honorees include John Ashcroft, Rudy Giuliani, and former White House Counsel Fred Fielding, who's a former Wiley Rein name partner.
