Eleanor Holmes Norton Says Women Need to Get Restless

"Rights come because people demand them," says Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, speaking at Orrick as part of its seventh annual firmwide "Dive/In" day celebrating inclusion and diversity. What we have as women came because women stepped forward, says Holmes, but she feels that progress is slowing. "Women need to get a whole lot more restless to get what they're entitled to." A civil rights activist (encouraged by growing up in a segregated DC where residents weren't able to vote in Presidential elections) and the first female chair of the EEOC, Holmes discussed the importance of equal pay.

We snapped Orrick DC managing partner Kyle Drefke and litigation partner Christina Sarchio flanking antitrust associate Amisha Patel, who organized the event. This year's focus of the Dive/In events is women in the law.

Steve tells us that his next courtroom date is out in LA. Earlier this year, he repped Sony in insurance coverage litigation from a cyber-breach of its online PlayStation network.
