It's a season of anniversaries. Morrison & Foerster celebrated its 35th year in the District with a gala on the Hay-Adams rooftop, overlooking the White House. Firm chair Larren Nashelsky, left, pointed out that this office was the first to open outside of California. He's with firmwide managing partner Anna Erickson White and appellate and Supreme Court practice co-chairs Deane Maynard and Joe Palmore. Joe just joined from his post as Assistant to the Solicitor General.

The office opened with six lawyers and has grown to more than 100, with more than 140 in the greater Washington area. Antitrust practice co-chair Steve Smith gives a toast to the firm's clients.

Among the 110 guests, we found government contracts co-chair Brad Wine, NoVa partner Charlie Katz, and Sourcefire GC Doug McNitt. Earlier in the evening, Bob Loeffler, one of the six original founders of the office, gave a brief history.
