The Foodie Event of the Spring

Placeholder

Leave your stilettos at home and strap on some Birkenstock sandals; the hottest event of the spring is not a gala. On June 2, culinary heavy hitters, including Mike Isabella, Bryan Voltaggio and Spike Mendelsohn will serve a family-style feast at an urban farm off K Street. The K Street Farm dinner doubles as a fundraiser for DC Greens and the launch of the organization's Culinary Council. Scheduled to join are movie star siblings Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal. Maggie, pictured with DC Greens’ Executive Director Lauren Shweder Biel, serves on the organization’s advisory board.

“There’s gala fatigue out there; this is just a fun party where you can come, have a good time, and make an energetic commitment to care about these issues," Lauren tells us. The issues being food education, access and policy in Washington, DC. Attendees can expect to sip on wine from Early Mountain Vineyards, visit a cocktail bar housed in a potting shed, move to a bluegrass band, and have a memorable meal. VIP tables are available for purchase for $600 per person and regular admission is $250. More information.
