It seems common these days to hear of buildings receiving the highest LEED certification, but Rosslyn's Wilson Towers just became the first buildings in Virginia to receive Platinum Wired Certification, which ranks internet connectivity.

Monday Properties' buildings at 1000 and 1100 Wilson Blvd have tenants including Politico, Sinclair Broadcast Group (which just renewed for 15 years), Grant Thornton, Sands Capital Management and PwC.

“Offering premier technology has been critical to ensuring we provide the best experience for our tenants and has played an integral role in distinguishing our properties as the best in Northern Virginia for businesses across sectors," Monday president Tim Helmig said in a release.

The ranking system, launched in 2013, evaluates internet connectivity and reliability in commercial buildings. Ranked buildings range from being considered certified to receiving Silver, Gold and Platinum certification. More than 650 buildings worldwide and 40 DC-area buildings have some level of Wired Certification, but the Wilson Towers are the first Virginia buildings to reach the highest level.

“The Northern Virginia area has recently seen a heavy influx of tech companies and startups as more DC-area businesses look outside the District for prime office space," CEO and co-founder of WiredScore Arie Barendrecht said in a release. “As a result, we’re seeing leading office buildings in the area seeking to stand out by having the cutting-edge tech infrastructure that today’s businesses look for.”
