Two DC tech companies announced funding deals this week. Mapbox, which makes customizable maps used by web and mobile developers, landed $52.5M. The round was led by DFJ Growth and includes Pritzker Group, Thrive Capital and The Foundry Group. The Washington Business Journal noted that the capital was raised from firms in all four of the nation’s time zones. Framebridge, launched by tech entrepreneur Susan Tynan (above) last summer, announced its $7.7M raise from existing investors NEA, Revolution and LivingSocial co-founder Tim O’Shaughnessy. The company, which allows consumers to get artwork framed through an online app, has raised $11M to date. Susan and Mapbox COO Bonnie Bogle were honored in Tech Bisnow’s Women in Tech series last year. [WBJ
