Arlington County Funds Conservation Projects in Four Neighborhoods

Placeholder

The Arlington County Board has unanimously approved more than $2.9M in funding for four new Neighborhood Conservation Projects. All four projects are for street improvements that will also help with stormwater management and sidewalk connectivity.

Projects were initially submitted by residents and endorsed by civic associations before being qualified by staff and finally evaluated by the Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee. All told, 31 projects were considered before the final four were recommended for funding.

Funding for the projects will come from the voter-approved 2014 Community Conservation bond. Project costs range from a high of $970k for improvements to Ashton Heights Street to a low of $261k for Leeway Street. [RER]
