Terry Holzheimer 1948-2014.

The Washington business community mourns the loss of an extraordinary regional voice, as Arlington County economic development director Terry Holzheimer died Saturday of a heart attack at age 66.

Since joining Arlington County in '96 (he was named director in '05), Terry helped shape the jurisdiction we see today, from the dynamic R-B Corridor to the reemergence of Crystal City following the onset of BRAC. A frequent Bisnow panelist, Terry was known for his straight-talking and heavily researched, analytical insights. We are grateful for his skills, friendship, and impact, and we will all miss him. Vornado/Charles E. Smith president Mitchell Schear told us this morning: "Terry was a tremendous partner to us and many others in the real estate community. His professionalism, his smarts, and his great instincts will be so missed."
