FiscalNote Moving HQ To 1201 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Expanding Footprint

FiscalNote has signed a deal to occupy 38K SF at 1201 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, and remain in the District for the next 10 years.

The full-floor lease nearly doubles the tech company's footprint from its current 21K SF space at One Thomas Circle. JLL's Andy O'Brien and Bobby Blair represent FiscalNote.

FiscalNote, a tech company that tracks, searches and analyzes legislative data, launched in June 2013. The company subleased 8K SF at 1155 F St. NW before signing a two-year lease at One Thomas Circle in 2016.

The company employs 53 people who live in D.C. and is launching internship and apprentice programs exclusively for D.C. residents.

"Given FiscalNote's unique position at the intersection of technology and policy, we hoped to be able to stay in the District for our next wave of expansion," FiscalNote CEO Tim Hwang said in a release. "The Mayor's office partnered with us to develop the right incentives that enable us to remain here. We’ll use those resources to invest in training, apprenticeship and internship programs for D.C. residents over the life of the agreement.”

CORRECTION, JUNE 23, 11:30 A.M.: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that FiscalNote would only hire D.C. residents. Its internship and apprentice programs are exclusively for D.C. residents, but not all of the company's hiring. The story has been updated.
