Convene To Open 35K SF Meeting And Event Space At Rosslyn's Central Place
The company signed a 35K SF sublease from Gartner, CEB's parent company, to occupy the top two floors beneath the building's observation deck, the Washington Business Journal reports.
JBG Smith delivered the 390-foot-tall, 30-story tower at 1201 Wilson Blvd. earlier this year. CEB signed a 350K SF lease to anchor the 560K SF tower ahead of construction. The building still has roughly 148K SF available across six floors, according to its most recent marketing materials.
The Central Place development also includes a 31-story residential tower and retail. The developer has signed fast-casual chains such as Sweetgreen, Nando's Peri-Peri, Compass Coffee and The Little Beet.
Convene, founded in 2009, opened a 15K SF space in Tysons in 2013. The WBJ reports it is scouting the D.C. area for additional sites. It also has locations in New York City, Boston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, with plans to open in Chicago.
Convene last month acquired Boston-based Beco, a firm that tracks workplace activity. The company raised $68M in a Series C funding round led by Brookfield Property Partners — the company's largest shareholder — last year.
