Another Downtown Rehab: 1800 K to Get Makeover

Washington, D.C. Office

RREEF just announced it's putting $40M into transforming the 217k SF 1800 K Street into a glass-wrapped, trophy building. CBRE's Scott Frankel, who's marketing the available space at 1800 K with colleagues Andrew Felber, Mark Klug, and Max Friedman, says employing a central core into 1800 K's 20k SF floor plates will aid in enticing law firms and other large users, and that other new features like a street-grade lobby and new rooftop terrace will "satisfy the needs of today’s new workplace strategy concepts." (Confirming our theory that Millennials care more about the roof under their feet than the one over their head.)

The signature "1800" sign that once adorned the building's corner will be removed for new floor-to-ceiling windows, and the building's street-level retail frontage will get revamped. A new glass facade will be placed on the entire exterior, too.
