Q&A With Foxhall Partners Co-Founder Brian Friedman

Placeholder

Brian Friedman, co-founder/managing partner of Foxhall Partners and founder of Friedman Capital, is heavily invested in the DC area as a whole.

Brian took some time to chat with Bisnow about what the development along the Southwest Waterfront meant for the city and how Hoffman-Madison's The Wharf will benefit the entire area.

Bisnow: What’s your initial impressions of the development going on along the Southwest Waterfront?

Brian: We’re very excited about what’s happening at the Southwest Waterfront. It was great the way it was and now it’s going to be something really special, because people are going to live there and they’re going to actually work there. There are going to be a lot of jobs. And people will definitely be playing there.

Bisnow: Is there a specific demographic that might find this evolving submarket appealing?

Brian: You’re going to get a lot of Millennials and young professionals that have degrees seeking jobs. You’re going to have Baby Boomers that are retiring from big homes who want something that’s cool and urban.

Bisnow: What does a development like The Wharf mean for the DC area as a whole?

Brian: It means more people. You’re going to have more supply but you’re also going to have more demand. It makes it more dynamic and it truly leverages the waterfront. We have this great waterfront that really needs to be taken advantage of. It reminds me of South Africa and London.
