Bozzuto Delays Plans For 500-Unit Reston Project

Bozzuto has plans to turn the 250-unit St. Johns Wood Apartments in Reston, above, into 467 units and 46 townhouses.

The developer has had to scale back the project in response to criticism during the planning process and is delaying a public hearing to further alter the proposal, RestonNow reports.

Previous iterations of the proposal had planned for 625 units and then 511 units with 51 townhouses. The site is in a heavily wooded residential area adjacent to Reston Parkway, and North Village and Center Harbor roads.

Neighborhood residents have voiced concerns over too much development in areas not close to Reston Town Center and the effect it could have on traffic and parking. Toby Bozzuto will speak at BMAC East on Oct. 20. [RN]
