What You Didn’t Know About Alexandra Johns

Title: Investments SVP, Resmark Land and Housing.
Years on the job: 2.
Company: Investments range from urban infill luxury condos to suburban townhomes and detached homes between Philly and Richmond. For-sale and under-development projects in Dupont, Shaw, suburban MD and VA and Philly suburbs.
Memorable project: Partnership with Mignatti Cos to develop Waterside, an urban village on the Delaware River in Bensalem, PA. Inspired local authorities to consider new Master Plan for 10-mile area around project.
Current project: Partnership with Duball to develop Stonehall, 46 luxury condos in Bethesda. 
CRE career: Learned how to appraise commercial real estate while in college. First job was with Arthur Andersen, working nationally on institutional assets.
Grew up: Chevy Chase.
Childhood memory: Sledding at Carnegie and exploring the woods of Rock Creek Park. 
Current home: Chevy Chase.
Why DC: Mom grew up in DC and Dad courted her from Baltimore, while he worked on Bay Bridge construction and studied at Hopkins. Settled in DC after Dad’s graduation from MIT. 
Schools: Walt Whitman HS and University of Maryland.
First job: Bagel Place on Rockville Pike.
Job in another life: Music talent scout.
Daily habit: Identify the gift in every experience.
Favorite apps: Wunderlist and BandsInTown.
Favorite movie: Cinema Paradiso.
Favorite restaurant: Komi.
Favorite musicians and songs: Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 23 in F Minor, Opus 57; Chuck Brown’s “Bustin’ Loose”; Stevie Wonder’s “Sir Duke”; and Rollins Band’s “Liar.”
Favorite vacation: On a sailboat.
Guilty pleasure: Dark chocolate.
Bucket list: Sail from St. Maarten to the Grenadines.
Family: Two daughters (15 and 12).
Hobbies: Running, sailing, tennis, travel.
Startling fact: Went to University of Maryland, yet unable to bounce a quarter.
