What You Didn’t Know About Kelly Shooshan

Years at Shooshan: 12. 
Company: Specializes in urban in-fill, mixed-use; TSC has planned, designed, developed, managed and invested over 4M SF of mixed-use, mostly in Arlington. Seven employees, including brother (Kevin) and father (John), at TSC, and 40 in Kodiak Realty, TSC’s asset/property management company.
Memorable project: First development – Liberty Center. 2.3M SF mixed-use development in Ballston, including nine buildings on over 10 acres, 1.3M SF of office (with two GSA tenants), 234 Class A condos, 492 Class A apartments, 181 hotel rooms and over 50K SF of ground retail (brought new retailers like sweetgreen and Taylor Gourmet). Three buildings were developed at the same time (on time, under budget). 
Current project: Redeveloping Marymount University’s “Blue Goose” building to create new Ballston entrance, with new academic/office building and 267-unit, 15-story apartment building on 99-year ground lease from the university. Delivering spring 2017. 
CRE career: Started as financial analyst with Spaulding & Slye’s Capital Markets Group. And walked assemblage sites with dad since age 7. 
Grew up: Potomac. 
Current home: Arlington.
School: Georgetown.
First job: Selling painted rocks door to door. Hired brother, Kevin, to pull red wagon. 
Job in another life: Fashion designer. 
Daily habit: Make bed.
Favorite apps: Sonos and Spring.
Favorite movies: Baby Mama and Talladega Nights.
Favorite restaurant: Red Hen. 
Favorite band: Dave Matthews Band.
Favorite vacation spot: Family beach house in Bethany.
Guilty pleasure: Italian Store with salt and pepper potato chips.
Bucket list: Yoga teacher (working on certification for 2016).
Hobbies: Running, yoga, and any activity for mental and physical health.
