15 Things You Need to Know This Morning

Pod Hotel Expands To DC

The Pod Hotels have made a big splash in NYC – very small rooms but very inexpensive, with appealing common areas and amenities. And therefore, very popular. Now the first Pod outside of NYC is coming to DC – and will be financed by EagleBank. It’s being developed by Modus Hotels president Aaron Katz and Cafritz Interests CEO Conrad Cafritz. The 68k SF building at 627 H St., NW (near the Verizon Center) will have 11 stories, 245 guest rooms, a rooftop bar, 14k SF of creative food and beverage space, a fitness studio, and meeting space. The project is expected to deliver in 2016.
