What You Don't Know About Amy Bowser

Job: Represents owners and tenants for sale and lease of trophy assets. 
On the job: 15 years.
Memorable project: 1700 NY Ave. – unique building and location, almost fully leased within year of delivery. Only 3k SF away from 100%.
2015 predictions: For DC trophy product, will start seeing shift toward landlord favorable market as large block options among existing inventory diminish. 
Why CRE career: Intended as temporary measure before law school. Started at Spaulding & Slye (sold to JLL in 2006) and changed course after realizing opportunity. 
Grew up: Ford City, Penn.
Current home: Silver Spring.
Why DC: After graduating from college in mid 90s, outlook for employment in western Pennsylvania was bleak. DC had more, so came without a job. 
School: Clarion University.
First job: At 18, worked in the Prothonotary & Clerk of Courts during the day; bartender at night. (On occasion saw the same people at both jobs.)
Job in another life: Nat Geo explorer.
Daily habit: Walking dog, Bogey, and reading before bed. 
Favorite apps: Kayak and Currency Converter. 
Favorite movie: The Usual Suspects.
Favorite restaurant: Amaya in London, Rasika in DC.
Favorite band: Radiohead.
Favorite vacation spot: Anywhere with adventure. Recently went to Nicaragua. 
Guilty pleasure: Massage addict – get one every other week. 
Bucket list: Manaslu Trek in Nepal from tea house to tea house. 
Family: Long-term significant other, Steve; and mini boxer puppy.
Hobbies: Travel, golf, weight lifting, and voracious reader. 
Recent book favorites: The Devil and Sherlock Holmes and The Goldfinch
Startling fact: Started keeping bees last February after watching documentary on Colony Collapse Disorder.
