15 Things You Need to Know This Morning
 EagleBank Clears Merger Hurdle
Yesterday, Eagle Bancorp got the final regulatory green light to merge Tysons-based Virginia Heritage Bank into EagleBank. The transaction will close Oct. 31 pending approval from Virginia Heritage’s shareholders and other closing conditions. It will combine Virginia Heritage’s six Northern Virginia locations and EagleBank’s 18 regional branches. Meanwhile, on Monday, the EagleBank Foundation raised $375k during its 10th Annual Golf Classic to Fight Breast Cancer. The event, at Woodmont in Rockville, was sold out with 248 golfers. Funds from the event, which has raised $1.9M over the last 10 years, will go to area hospitals and grassroots organizations. Golfers included, above, Virginia Heritage CEO Dave Summers, EagleBank SVP Andy Bridge, EagleBank CEO Ron Paul, and EagleBank Foundation chairman Don Rogers.
