JBG Is Breaking Ground on Three-Part NoMa Project Next Year

JBG and Brandywine Realty Trust's three-part, one-building development in NoMa is expected to break ground next year, JBG principal Andy VanHorn told Bisnow yesterday.

The project, bordered by N Street NE to the north, Patterson Street to the south and First Street NE to the east, will have a below-grade Landmark Movie Theater, a 220-unit residential tower (which Andy is keen on developing as condos) and two office towers. The key to the project will be the retail: there's 60k SF and Andy has already received numerous inquiries from top-flight restaurateurs

The project went before the local ANC last night and will go in front of the BZA next month, Andy says. When it opens, it will bring more retail to a retail-starved neighborhood that has more than 20M SF of development in the pipeline.
