Capital City Real Estate has acquired a nearly half-acre site in Buzzard Point and has plans for a mixed-use development on the waterfront.

The company acquired the parcel from owner Duane Deason for $9.8M, the Washington Business Journal reports. The parcel is bounded by V, First and Half streets SW and backs up to Buzzard Point Park and Buzzard Point Marina.

The site sits just two blocks south of the future home of DC United’s stadium, a project the District hopes will spur a wave of new development. Capital City’s plans call for up to 107 condominiums, retail and a wealth of amenities with the project expected to deliver in 2018.

This is the latest project announced by Capital City Real Estate in the District. Just last month, the developer submitted a PUD application for a 180-unit residential project adjacent to Hechinger Mall, which is just up the road from the developer’s 25-unit condo project at 301 H St NE[WBJ]
