Even More Residential Planned For H Street

Capital City Real Estate has plans for another development on H Street NE, this time just east of the main H Street Corridor.

The developer has submitted a PUD application for a 180-unit residential development at 1701 H St NE that would sit adjacent to the Hechinger Mall, Urban Turf reports. In addition to the residential component, plans call for a little over 14k SF of retail and underground parking.

Capital City is also the developer behind a 25-unit condo project just up the road at 301 H St NE, which will have amenities including a rooftop fitness facility and a swimming pool. WDG Architecture has been tasked with design for the new project.

This is the latest of several projects planned or in the works for booming H Street, including MRP Realty’s 125-unit development at 315 H St and Douglas Development’s mixed-use project at 501 H St NE. It was only a matter of time before the redevelopment boom made its way to the area around the sprawling Hechinger Mall. [UT]
