UDC Votes to Move Community College

After a Feb. 10 operations board vote, the University of the District of Columbia's community college could be leaving its downtown campus (above) for its Van Ness campus, reports NBC4. The decision still requires approval by the university’s board of trustees, but considering most of the operation committee’s pro-move voters are also on the board of trustees, no one’s holding their breath. The relocation would cost about $11M, and would move the university’s 2,500 students to the upper Northwest campus, and the community college program to Building 44. UDC plans to sublease 801 N Capitol St, a lease that costs them $5.5M/year and still has another 17 years left.
