One of Washington's top bankers, who also develops real estate and invests in local companies, will be recognized this fall for his long and influential career.

Urban Land Institute will award EagleBank CEO Ron Paul with its Lifetime Achievement Award at it annual dinner, Nov. 15 at the National Building Museum

A New York native who graduated from the University of Maryland, Paul has been involved in community banking for three decades. He helped found Prince George's National Bank in 1987, and then in 1998 he became a founding board member of EagleBank. He has served as EagleBank's CEO since 2006 and as chairman since 2008. The bank now has more than $7B in assets and invests in numerous development projects.

In addition to financing many developments with EagleBank, Paul also has his own development company, Ronald D. Paul Cos., which he formed in 1987. He is currently working on a 370-unit residential and retail project near his alma mater at the College Park Metro station.

Paul also invests in D.C. companies such as co-working provider MakeOffices and restaurant chain Matchbox.

The most recent winners of ULI's Lifetime Achievement Award were Oliver T. Carr Jr. in 2016 and Ted Lerner in 2015. The 2007 winner of the award, West-Group CEO Gerald Halpin, passed away last week
