DC Landlord Says GSA Skipped on Six Months' Rent

Placeholder

A DC landlord says the GSA owes it $2M in rent after the government didn't fully vacate a space and didn't fulfill its lease obligation. The GSA says it vacated the space and doesn't believe it owes anything. The debate over three floors of the Franklin Court Class-A office building at 14th and L NW will either end with the GSA relenting and paying the $2M, or end up in court, the Washington Business Journal reports. The National Labor Relations Board was supposed to move into new space at 1015 Half St SE in January, but a communications breakdown led to a delay, and the Millennium Challenge Corp—another GSA tenant—wasn't able to move in.
