DC is Renovating Dozens of Alleys

Placeholder

Mayor Muriel Bowser has declared "AlleyPalooza" in effect. At 11am today, the mayor and her transportation director kicked off the initiative, which will start by renovating 64 alleys—eight in each ward in DC. The alleys were chosen based on which had the most 311 calls, outreach from the community and input from District engineers, the DCist reports. Some alleys will just get touch-ups, but most of them will look like an entirely new passage. The push will last two months, but city officials vowed that would not be the end of alley renewals.
