Food Incubator Looking For 12k SF In DC

Retail brokers take note: beloved cookie business Captain Cookie is looking for an 8k to 12k SF space to open up a food incubator in the DC area.

The concept behind Tastemakers calls for space that will be designed as a large shared kitchen for small and midsized local food businesses. The new facility will look to serve culinary entrepreneurs and their customers from around the District, with plans to feature a retail market and bakery to showcase products, as well as dine-in and carryout options. To make Tastemakers a reality, Captain Cookie is seeking 8k to 12k SF for purchase or lease.

In addition, Captain Cookie founder Kirk Francis is seeking between 500 and 1k SF for additional locations, with interest in the areas of NoMa, Shaw, Downtown CBD, Chinatown, H Street or NoVa.

Captain Cookie and The Milkman started as a single food truck and has grown to a fleet of three, with a retail location at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave NW. In addition to fresh-baked cookies, the company features local creamery milk and made-to-order ice cream sandwiches.

The company put out the call for space in an email blast, courtesy of Neighborhood Retail Group, a retail services firm that reps tenants and landlords.
