Who Is Morris Adjmi?

Washington, D.C.

The gorgeous glass building at 2030 8th Street (the Atlantic Plumbing condos, that we wrote about yesterday) may stand out amidst the rest of U Street (and the rest of D.C. for that matter) but that’s only because it’s the first project here by New York-based architect Morris Adjmi. Bisnow profiled Adjmi in detail way back in 2008, when his daring High Line building, that the elevated park runs through, was under construction.

Since then, the architect also responsible for other prominent designs like Japan's Il Palazzo and NY's Theory Building has created more environmentally friendly (and often glass-heavy) projects including a unique office space near the High Line that resembles a twisted glass pyramid. Imagine one of those in Shaw or Dupont Circle!
