Sibley Hospital's New Look

If you've driven by DC's Sibley Memorial Hospital recently (that would be people who think the Haunted DC tour just isn't morbid enough), you've probably noticed some construction. We were curious, so we checked in with hospital SVP of construction and real estate Jerry Price (snapped at our Healthcare summit last October).Jerry says Sibley is undergoing a $340M, three-phase campus renewal--the first two of which (a parking garage, medical office building, and new Radiation Oncology Center) are already finished. On tap: a new, 475k SF, 200-bed hospital that'll include a new emergency department as well as a modern, two-floor labor and delivery facility.

Yesterday, we snapped Sibley's Hayes Hall property, which is being torn down to build the new hospital, also to include a new Medical Oncology and Infusion center that will be part of the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer center program. Jerry says Sibley is currently out to bid with the new project and hopes to award a bid and begin construction by June 1.
