Avison Young is beefing up its D.C. Capital Markets team with a new hire.

The brokerage firm announced Monday it brought on Matt Weber from MAC Realty Advisors to join its Capital Markets Group as senior vice president.

The firm's D.C. team is led by Managing Director Josh Peyton. It also includes principals Wes Boatwright, Mike Yavinsky and Jon Goldstein, who joined last year from JLL. Managing Director John Kevill, also based in D.C., oversees Avison Young's U.S. Capital Markets. As part of the D.C. Capital Markets Group, Weber will focus on finance and sales for multifamily, office, industrial and retail properties.

"Matt is a talented leader who has a tremendous depth of experience," Kevill said in a release. "He will be working on both the sales and JV equity side, and will ensure that our clients get a 360-degree exposure to how various capital structures can be used to drive value."

Weber spent two years with MAC Realty focusing on investment sales and equity placement. Before that, he worked for six years with NV Commercial, managing a private equity fund and spent three years with ING Clarion, where he managed over $1B in real estate investments.

"Avison Young represents an incredible opportunity to be part of a smart, successful team of highly regarded professionals,” Weber said. “I’m looking forward to using my experience working with family offices and institutional clients to help grow the U.S. Capital Markets’ presence."
