Dr. Gene Carter's last day as ASCD's executive director is June 30; then Judy Seltz, ASCD’s chief officer of constituent services and deputy executive director, will become acting head. Dr. Carter, who was superintendent of schools in Norfolk, Va., before joining ASCD, led the 140,000-member organization’s international expansion, and grew its professional development programs, products, and services. Dr. Carter says he looks forward to assuming the role of emeritus executive director and beginning the next chapter of his life with family, friends, and colleagues.
