New Gen Leaders: Assemble!

Last night, we hosted an invitation-only cocktail event at Roadside Development's CityMarket at O featuring a collection of new generation leaders in commercial real estate, which we're dubbing Bisnow Ascent. Up on the rooftop, we snapped Trammell Crow's David Neuman, Foxhall Partners' Matt Wexler, Daro Management's Carissa Barry, Moseley Construction's Angela Keel, and Trammell Crow's Adam Weers. Matt tells us his firm is setting up a summer beer garden at its Savoy Suites hotel in Glover Park, which will open up June 30.

AvalonBay's Kelly Nagel and JBG's Bailey Hopple are each working on big apartment projects in Virginia: Kelly on Avalon's 450-plus-unit project in Falls Church, and Bailey on her firm's redevelopment of 6862 Elm St in McLean that JBG is seeking entitlements for, she says. (Entitlements on Elm Street can be a nightmare.)

A couple of young development aces flank Moseley Construction's Johnny Moseley: JBG's Ed Chaglassian and Vornado's Reid Weppler.

Of course, we had to invite some real estate vets to up the age ratio: here's Monument Realty boss Michael Darby and CohnReznick's David Kessler bookending White Star Investments' Craig Bernstein.

Keener Squire's Michael Korns, Somera Capital's Jake Farver, Dalian Development's Brady Nolan, and Ditto Residential's Martin Ditto. Brady says his firm is working on a 293-unit, Whole Foods-anchored project in the Fairmount section of downtown Philly. For more info or to apply to attend our Ascent event in November, click here.
