Kim Horn is the president of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of the Mid-Atlantic States, Inc. She oversees all aspects of the Mid-Atlantic Region, which serves nearly 749,619 members and operates 32 medical centers throughout the District of Columbia, Northern Virginia and Maryland. She also maintains an ongoing partnership with the Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, with more than 1,536 board certified physicians, is the largest integrated multi-specialty group practice in the region. Kaiser Permanente is the only health system in the region delivering a fully integrated combination of care and coverage. In her role as president, Horn is dedicated to ensuring people receive an unparalleled health experience. Horn is chair of the Greater Washington Board of Trade. She also serves on the board of the Washington Economic Club and is a member of the Washington Area Women’s Foundation. Additionally, Horn is on the board of the Living Classrooms Foundation, working to strengthen Baltimore communities and inspire young people to achieve their potential through hands-on education and job training. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente in October 2012, Horn served as president and CEO of Grand Rapids-based Priority Health. During her 15-year tenure, the organization grew from 100,000 to over 600,000 members across the state of Michigan and revenues exceeding $2 billion annually. Throughout her career, Horn has been active in many community, philanthropic and industry endeavors. She served as president of the Michigan Association of Health Plans, a voice for the industry representing 17 health plans and more than 2.1 million health care consumers throughout the state of Michigan. Horn was also a director and member of the Executive Committee for the Association of Community Health Plans, a national leadership organization that brings together innovative health plans and provider groups to deliver affordable, high quality coverage and care in their communities. She also served as a director and chair of Tomorrow’s Child for more than a decade. The organization provides services and programs across the state of Michigan to save infants' lives and support families who have experienced a pregnancy loss or infant death. Horn is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

Jason Miller is the inaugural CEO of the Greater Washington Partnership, where he works side by side with the region’s top business, academic, and civic leaders to influence and affect meaningful change on the most critical issues facing the Capital Region.

Professor Fuller joined the faculty at George Mason University in 1994 as Professor of Public Policy and Regional Development. He served as Director of the Ph.D. Program in Public Policy from July 1998 to June 2000 and from July 2001 to July 2002. In September 2001, the GMU Board of Visitors appointed him University Professor and in July 2002 he was named to the Dwight Schar Faculty Chair and Director of the Center for Regional Analysis; he served in this capacity until May 2015. He currently holds the position of Director of The Stephen S. Fuller Institute. Prior to joining the George Mason University faculty, he served on the faculty at George Washington University for twenty-five years, including nine as Chairman of the Department of Urban Planning and Real Estate Development and one as Director of Doctoral Programs for the School of Business and Public Management. Dr. Fuller received a B.A. in Economics from Rutgers University (1962) and his Doctorate in Regional Planning and Economic Development (1969) from Cornell University. He has authored more than 800 articles, papers, and reports in the field of urban and regional economic development including monthly reports on the Washington metropolitan area (2/91 to 2/11) and Fairfax County economies (6/97 to 6/09). Professor Fuller’s recent research has focusing on the structure of the Washington metropolitan area economy, how this changed during the Great Recession and how it will change going forward as its federal-spending dependency diminishes. He has also undertaken research on the changing workforce requirements of the Washington area’s emerging economy and the housing requirement of this future workforce. His current research involves the projected demographic changes over the next fifteen years and how these will impact the Washington area’s workforce, housing market, and demand for public services. Professor Fuller was recently appointed to serve on the Joint Advisory Board of Economists by Governor McAuliffe. He served on the Governor’s Advisory Board of Economists under Governors Kaine, Warner, Allen and Wilder. In 2003, he was a member of the Governor Warner’s Tax Reform Working Group. He also is a member of the DC CFO Business Advisory Group of the District of Columbia, the Montgomery County Business Advisory Panel and the U.S Army Women’s Foundation. His international assignments include Kazakhstan, Georgia, Hungary and China as well as on-going projects in Portugal. He served on the Board of Directors of Tompkins Builders Inc., a DC-based company, from 2004 to 2012, and currently serves on the Boards of the Global Environment and Technology Foundation and Northfield Mount Hermon School in Gill, Massachusetts. In May of 2015, Dr. Fuller was elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Northfield Mount Hermon School.

Chuck Bean is an executive and civic leader with more than 30 years of experience in government, nonprofits, and philanthropy. Since 2012, Bean has served as Executive Director of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), one of the country’s prominent regional councils and metropolitan planning organizations. COG is an independent, nonprofit association that brings area leaders together to address major regional issues, including economic development, land-use, human services, public safety, and environmental and transportation planning. Its membership is comprised of 300 elected officials from 24 local governments, the Maryland and Virginia state legislatures, and U.S. Congress. Bean previously served as President of the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and the Director of the Community Capacity Fund. Bean earned his Master of Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government.

With more than 30 years of experience in advertising and marketing, Cary Hatch, CEO of MDB Communications, has established a formidable track record in business and consumer communications, both domestic and international. Her broad-based client experience includes National Geographic, Fannie Mae, Destination DC, International Spy Museum, Sprint and many others. Cary Hatch has been recognized on the POWER 100, the Washington Business Journal's list of the most influential business leaders, for 4 consecutive years. She currently serves as the Chairman of the Mid-Atlantic Board of Governors for the American Association of Advertising Agencies and was recently appointed to the National Government Relations Committee by the 4A's. Cary serves on the Washington DC Leadership Committee for the Ad Council and is a board member for the $2B University System of Maryland Foundation. Mr. Buchanan is a Principal of Buchanan Partners, a full service real estate development company in office, retail, industrial, residential, and large mixeduse planned communities. Mr. Buchanan is the President of the 2030 Group, an association of Washington metropolitan area business leaders focused on regional long-term decision-making and solutions. The mission of the 2030 Group is to advance a strong regional economy with new employment opportunities and sustainable prosperity for current and future residents of the Washington metropolitan area. Mr. Buchanan was recently recognized in the Washington Business Journal’s “Power 100” list of the region’s most influential business leaders. Until recently, Mr. Buchanan was chair of VisArts, a premier visual arts organization in the capital region that’s based in Rockville. His extensive past community involvement also involves Chair of Loudoun County Economic Development Commission and Founding Member of the Ballston Partnership.

Jonathan Aberman is a highly respected thought leader on entrepreneurship and innovation. His experience as a venture investor, innovation consultant, university professor, and media commentator gives him a 360-degree perspective on entrepreneurship and technology innovation. He is identified as a leader of change and influence in print and television media, recognized by Washingtonian magazine as a “Tech Titan,” by the Washington Business Journal as a member of the “Power 100” and by the Commonwealth of Virginia as one of its “50 Most Influential Entrepreneurs” in the Commonwealth.” Forbes Magazine described him as the “unsung hero” of the successful attraction of Amazon HQ2 to Arlington, Virginia. Jonathan has unique expertise in the melding of national security and entrepreneurship with technology commercialization. He has worked on these matters with a number of national security agencies and universities including DOD Laboratory establishment, DARPA, the Air Force, the Army, the Department of Homeland Security, George Mason University, and the University of Maryland at College Park. His activities regarding entrepreneurship and national security resulted in the formation of Tandem National Security Innovations, a national innovation community that has helped national security entities such as DARPA, DHS, SOCOM, JSOC, and others find and engage with nontraditional sources of innovation. Through his closely held investment business, Amplifier Ventures, Jonathan has helped to start 16 technology businesses since 2005. Among these businesses are successful companies in cybersecurity, mobile communications, internet, and mobile content and software. Before starting Amplifier Ventures, he had a 15-year career as a partner and senior manager of a number of national law firms, and prior to that, he was an associate in the investment banking industry in London, England. He uses his commercial experience to provide valuable strategic advice, business model and customer discovery acumen, and deal management. His experiences and contacts in the venture capital industry inform his views on technology innovation and provide a hard-earned commercial perspective that he applies to his work. Jonathan is a committed educator. Prior to joining Marymount, he spent 11 years as a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, where he taught a broad range of courses including business formation, corporate finance, business strategy, and family entrepreneurship. He also has a significant media footprint. He hosts What’s Working in Washington, a podcast and weekly radio show on Federal News Network’s WFED (AM 1500) examining innovation in one of the least understood business communities in the country. From 2015 until joining Marymount, Jonathan had a regular column, first in the Washington Post and then in the Washington Business Journal, covering the region’s business community, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development. He is often quoted in national publications including Bloomberg, CNN, Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times, and he actively participates on panels and serves as a keynote speaker for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology events. During his career Jonathan has helped to create many successful communities of entrepreneurs. In 2011, he founded Startup Virginia, Startup Maryland and StartupDC as part of the Obama Administration’s StartupAmerica Initiative. These efforts resulted in the formation of regionally impactful programs including 1776 Accelerator and the iCorps program. In 2012 he formed FounderCorps, a not for profit that aggregated many of the Greater Washington region’s most prominent entrepreneurs and promoted mentorship. In 2018, he formed the Tandem Product Academy, an educational program focused on teaching founders and senior executives essential skills necessary to scale technology product-based businesses.

Since April, 2010, Jim Corcoran has served as President & CEO of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce (Northern Virginia Chamber) formerly the Fairfax Chamber. Marek Gootman is a fellow and director of strategic partnerships and global initiatives at the Brookings Institution Metropolitan Policy Program. His focus is on bridging think tank perspective with real world action to increase the vitality of cities and metropolitan areas. Activities involve policy development, demonstration projects, peer learning networks, and external relations. Topics addressed include comprehensive regional/state economic strategies, exports and foreign investment, infrastructure, innovation, workforce, finance, and governance. He engages public and private partners in more than 30 metro areas and 20 states, as well as national interests, to advance adoption of the program’s ideas. He also leads the Global Cities Initiative, a project launched in 2011 aimed at helping U.S. and international metro areas strengthen their global economic connections and competitiveness. Previously, Gootman led a law and lobbying practice as a partner at Patton Boggs LLP, primarily counseling local governments, public agencies, and related interests on federal issues and public policy, including seven of the 10 largest U.S. cities. He also served in federal agencies as a senior advisor on various urban initiatives and program management reform; and in a bi-state metropolitan planning organization coordinating public-private partnership projects and public affairs activities. His international experience includes policy and economic development work in the U.K., Europe, and New Zealand. Gootman earned a law degree from Georgetown University; a master of government administration at the Fels Institute, University of Pennsylvania; and a business degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the District of Columbia and Maryland bars, and serves on the boards of several national and local organizations.

Jon M. Peterson is the Chief Executive Officer of Peterson Companies, one of the largest, most-admired privately-held real estate companies in the Washington, DC area. Founded more than 52 years ago, the company is responsible for some of the most prominent and successful mixed-use retail, residential and office developments in Northern Virginia and Maryland including Fairfax Corner, Fair Lakes, National Harbor, Virginia Gateway, Downtown Silver Spring, RIO, Burke Centre and Tysons McLean Office Park. Jon has been instrumental in the development of National Harbor from an underutilized waterfront property to a mixed-use waterfront destination that is home to Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center, MGM National Harbor, Tanger Outlets and The Capital Wheel. In 2016, he became Chairman of the Executive Committee which oversees all aspects of the retail, residential, commercial and mixed-use development and management. Prior to that, Jon served as Senior Vice President of Commercial and Business Development which allowed him to develop close ties to the entire metropolitan real estate community. He has led all aspects of build-to-suit, purchase and acquisition, sale, leasing and financing of commercial properties as well as the ground up development of approximately 3.5 million square feet of commercial office product in the Washington Metropolitan area. Jon graduated from Middlebury College, and he and the Peterson Family believe passionately in giving back to the communities they serve. Jon was a member on the George Mason University (GMU) Board of Visitors as Vice Rector and GMU’s Board of Trustees member from 2014-2018. He was also a board member of Washington First bank from 2014-2018. Matt Kelly is the CEO of JBG Smith and a member of the board of trustees. He previously served as a Managing Partner and a member of JBG's Executive Committee and Investment Committee. He previously was co-head of the firm's Investments Group and was primarily responsible for JBG's investment strategy and the investment and acquisition activity of the JBG Investment Funds. Prior to joining the JBG Companies in 2004, he was a co-founder of ODAC Inc., a media software company, and worked in private equity and investment banking with Thomas H. Lee Partners in Boston and Goldman Sachs, & Co in New York. Mr. Kelly currently serves as a Trustee of the Federal City Council and is a member of the Economic Club of Washington! D.C. He is Vice-Chair of the Medstar Health Washington Hospital Center Board of Directors. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of Ayuda, an immigrant focused non-profit organization in the D.C. metro area. He is also a member of The Urban Land Institute and The Real Estate Group and has lectured at Georgetown University and The University of Notre Dame. Mr. Kelly holds a B.A. with honors from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Bryant Foulger serves as both Managing Principal and Chairman of the Board of Directors and is a member of the Investment Committee. In his current role, Mr. Foulger draws on more than 30 years of real estate and management experience to provide approval and oversight of the CEO’s vision and strategy. Mr. Foulger was recently appointed to Maryland Governor Larry Hogan’s transition team and is also involved with the Montgomery Business Development Corporation, the Greater District of Columbia Chapter of the Leadership Council for the Mayo Clinic, the Montgomery County Business Advisory Panel, and is a trustee emeritus of the Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland. Mr. Foulger attended Brigham Young University and serves on numerous professional and charitable boards.

Bob Murphy is the Managing Principal for MRP Realty. He has over 34 years of experience in commercial real estate operations, ownership and investment. He joined Trammell Crow Company (TCC) in 1987, managing the firm’s regional operations for many years as Principal. Bob’s last role with TCC was area president of the development and investment group in the Mid-Atlantic where Bob and his team completed $1.8B of investments totaling over 10 million square feet. He co-founded MRP Realty (MRP) in 2005, capitalizing on his in-depth knowledge of Mid-Atlantic real estate markets, extensive network of capital relationships, and his reputation as a collaborative and creative partner to drive the firm. Under Bob’s leadership, MRP has deployed nearly $7.8B of office, residential/mixed-use and industrial developments and acquisition investments with an active pipeline totaling over 8 million square feet. He has actively participated in leadership roles at NAIOP and ULI and at various charitable activities during his career; currently serving on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Washington D.C. Bob received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Notre Dame; his M.B.A. in Finance at Columbia Business School; and was an officer in the United States Army.

Bob is the founder of The Pinkard Group. Bob sets the strategic direction of The Company and oversees all aspects of the firm. He is the former Chairman and CEO of Cassidy & Pinkard which grew to be the largest locally-owned real estate services company in the Washington region and a dominant player in the sale of investment properties throughout the region. In addition, Bob was the Managing Member of Cassidy & Pinkard's investment portfolio. Bob is the Co-Chair of the Real Assets Committee of the Williams College endowment and a Board Member of the France Merrick Foundation. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Bishop John T. Walker School for Boys, a tuition free Episcopal school in Ward 8 in the District of Columbia. Previously, Bob served as Chairman of ULI Washington District Council. He is a graduate of Williams College.

Timothy Trifilo is a partner in CohnReznick’s Tax Practice with more than 18 years of experience. He advises global clients in the asset management, private equity, and real estate industries including opportunity funds, venture capital, public and private REITs, institutional investment advisors, and real estate owners/developers. Tim specializes in structuring global private equity funds and investments with diverse investor profiles and in providing transaction support and advice on fund formation, public and private equity offerings, capital structures, REIT formation and qualification issues, real estate workouts, and M&A transactions. He also has significant experience in partnership taxation and joint venture transactions with specific focus on sovereign wealth funds (SWF). Prior to joining CohnReznick, Tim was a partner with a Big 4 firm. His tenure there included serving as a member of the firm’s SWF thought leadership group, obtaining a leadership position for its financial services real estate tax practice in Washington, D.C. He also led the strategy for growth and development of the financial services, asset management, and real estate tax practices in the Greater Atlanta market. Timothy is a CPA in New York, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

Tony Williams, the former Mayor of Washington, D.C. (1999 – 2007), is the current Chief Executive Officer of the Federal City Council, an organization focusing the creative and administrative talents of Washington’s business and professional leaders on major problems and opportunities facing the District. He is widely credited with leading the comeback of Washington D.C. during his two terms as Mayor, restoring the finances of our nation’s capital, and improving the performance of government agencies, all while lowering taxes and investing in infrastructure and human services. In addition to his duties with the Federal City Council, Mayor Williams is a Senior Advisor to King and Spaulding, LLP. He serves on several company boards as well as the boards of Fight for Children and the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. Prior to Federal City Council, he led the Global Government Practice at the Corporate Executive Board in Arlington, Virginia. He also taught public finance and urban leadership as the William H. Bloomberg Lecturer in Public Management at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government while coordinating programs for the Municipal Innovation Program at the Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation. Before his election as Mayor, he was the independent Chief Financial Officer of the District from 1995 to 1998, working with and on behalf of local officials, the D.C. Financial Control Board, and the U.S. Congress. Before his service in local Washington, Tony worked in a variety of positions in federal, state, and local government, including as the first CFO for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, appointed by President Bill Clinton and confirmed by the U.S. Senate. He holds a BA from Yale, an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School, and a J.D. from the Harvard Law School, as well as a number of awards and honorary degrees, including Governing Magazine Public Official of the Year in 1997. He is a fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration and former President of the National League of Cities.

David Birtwistle is CEO of the Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance where he is responsible for overall operations with specific focus on strategic planning and capital development. He had previously served on the NVTA Board of Directors. Preceding his joining the NVTA, he was a Senior Vice President with the Washington Division of Balfour Beatty Construction, a worldwide leader in construction, engineering and finance. His responsibilities included developing client relationships as well as new commercial and geographical markets. He has also led the division’s initiative to deliver public facilities utilizing Public Private Partnership’s (PPP) and has spoken on the topic throughout the country. David’s other professional experience included the Fairfax County Economic Development Authority, the Admiral H. G. Rickover Foundation and the Fairfax County Budget Office. He spent several years in the banking industry and began his career in the Washington DC area as a congressional intern. David has served a number of business and community organizations, including: NAIOP Northern Virginia Chapter (past Chair), the Greater Washington Board of Trade (Board of Directors), the Washington Airports Task Force (Board of Directors), and the National Council of Public Private Partnerships (Board of Directors). He recently joined the Board of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce. David received his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College and his Masters Degree from American University.

Stewart Schwartz is the Executive Director and a founder of the Coalition for Smarter Growth, which he built into the leading smart growth organization in the Washington DC region, addressing the interconnected issues of land use, transportation, urban design, housing, and climate change. An attorney with experience in land use, transportation, and the environment, Mr. Schwartz has worked for the President’s Council on Sustainable Development, the Land Trust Alliance, the Southern Environmental Law Center, and has volunteered for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. He is responsible for the strategic direction of the Coalition, whose Blueprint for a Better Region makes the case for urban revitalization, transit and transit-oriented development, affordable housing, and more walkable communities. He is a leader of state transportation reform campaigns in Virginia, serves on the board of the Virginia Conservation Network, and is a founder and board member of the Richmond Area Partnership for Smarter Growth. Stewart is an attorney, but he’s also a retired Navy Captain with 24 years of active and reserve service. He holds a BA and JD from the University of Virginia (a “double-Hoo”) and an MA from Georgetown University. He’s a member of the Virginia Bar Association, and a 2012 graduate of the Sorensen Institute for Political Leadership. We’d think he’s amazing, even if he hadn’t been recognized by the Washington Business Journal as Business Person of the Year (2002), a finalist for their Green Business Visionary Award (2009), and as a member of their Power 100 (2012, 2013, 2015)!

Jennifer Aument oversees Transurban’s business in North America, where she is responsible for the development, financing, construction and operations of major toll road infrastructure. She also serves on the global leadership team for the $20 billion international toll road owner and operator. Jennifer and her team at Transurban were among those who pioneered the use of public-private partnerships for major transportation infrastructure in the United States and were the first to use a number of innovative financing and technology strategies in the development of major toll road projects, including the 495, 95 and 395 Express Lanes in Northern Virginia. Under Jennifer’s tenure, these projects have won multiple industry awards for financing, innovation, safety and technology from groups such as the American Road & Transportation Builders Association, Engineering News-Record, Intelligent Transportation Society of America and the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association. As a leader in the transportation industry, Jennifer has advised state governments across the country on issues related to transport policy, innovative finance and public-private partnerships, and currently serves on advisory boards for the Eno Center for Transportation, the American Road & Transportation Builders Association and George Mason University. She was recently named among the “Outstanding Women in the Building Industry” and Commercial Real Estate Women’s “Woman of Impact.” Jennifer has been appointed to key positions by both Republican and Democratic governors, including commissioner and executive committee member for the Virginia Port Authority – one of the largest shipping enterprises in the United States. Jennifer also serves in number of community leadership roles, including as chairman of the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and a member of the board of directors for one of the region’s largest non-profit organizations, Northern Virginia Family Services. Prior to joining Transurban in 2006, Jennifer worked for Bechtel Infrastructure to develop the Washington Metrorail Silver Line. She began her career working in the West Virginia state legislature and went on to work as a public affairs and policy advisor to energy, infrastructure and financial services companies, including major multinational corporations such as HSBC, Suez Energy and General Motors. She holds a Masters of Business Administration from The George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from West Virginia University.

Bruce DePuyt is an award-winning journalist who has covered DC, Maryland and Virginia news for nearly 30 years. From 2002-2017, he hosted "NewsTalk," a daily interview show that became THE place for local and national newsmakers, journalists and analysts to discuss the big issues. A 1984 graduate of the University of Maryland, Bruce and his partner now live in the District.

Mr. Marquez, Sr. EVP and President of Commercial Banking joined the Company in August 2011. Mr. Marquez has over 29 years of experience in the banking industry. Prior to joining EagleBank, he established the real estate lending franchise for HSBC for the Washington, DC market. Earlier he was the head of Commercial Real Estate lending at Chevy Chase Bank from 1997 to 2005 and previously held various lending positions at The Riggs National Bank in Washington, DC after starting his career at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York.
