RKF Hires Industry Titan, Helps Drake Secure Space

It’s been an eventful year and a half for Steven Alikakos and his team at RKF Group Canada Realty, which now includes Teresa Spataro (ex-Ivanhoé Cambridge development leasing VP) who just joined as SVP. Steven launched RKF’s Toronto office in January 2014. Recent deals include securing women’s fashion retailer Andrews a 5,600 SF location at Sherway Gardens. Founded in Hazelton Lanes in 1991, Andrews also has a new space at Yorkville Village and a store at Bayview Village. “So the affluent west end was a natural place for the brand to grow.”

Steven says he helped Drake and Susur Lee find a location and secure a deal for their new JV dining spot, Fring's (but wasn't included in the picture above). The space at King and Spadina, formerly Crush Wine Bar, has 8k SF on two levels and will be “a great addition to the street.” RKF also found an anchor tenant for the ground floor of Queen Richmond Centre West: Ricarda’s, a large-format restaurant-bar concept that will be "completely new" to the city. Steven tells us landlords and tenants are digging on RKF’s retail-focused expertise. “They like that we’ve been able to narrow and target what they’re looking for.”
