CIBC Mellon’s new Mississauga office at 55 Standish Court epitomizes the workplace of the future, a 35k SF two-floor space for 150-plus staff that’s open, bright and collaborative. WZMH Architects partner Zenon Radewych, who managed the project, tells us fixed offices and meeting rooms were moved into the core while employee workstations are on the perimeter, with unobstructed access to natural light and views. It’s a healthier work environment and a welcome change for those relocating from CIBC Mellon's old-school HQ at 320 Bay St.

Here is CIBC Mellon’s corporate real estate and administration AVP Johnny Fong and WZMH's John White, who designed the office with Jerome de Kauwe. Jerome says there are "agile spaces” for impromptu meetings and areas to foster connectivity. Each floor had to have social space, says Johnny, “and we wanted few private offices but lots of meeting rooms.” His firm is big on employee engagement; when staff like coming to work and collaborating “our clients get better service.” CIBC Mellon soon moves its HQ to One York St, “and the Mississauga office is our template.”
