Hospitality Sector Is Very Welcome in Chicago

Enough talk about multifamily—the hospitality sector is coming up from behind, says Peak Construction project manager Jim Michael. The improving economy is boosting hospitality and tourism numbers all over the country, especially in Chicagoland. This is spurring investors, developers and owners alike to tackle new construction or finally implement those much-needed PIPs (that’s brand-initiated Property Improvement Plans to you and me). Jim is seeing it across every level of service—from luxury and boutique hotels to budget and limited service. Introducing more rooms and new brands will keep Chicago at the forefront of the hospitality industry. Along those lines, Peak is poised to support the continued boom. They’re currently building the Hyatt House in Evanston and a Holiday Inn Express in Galesburg, IL. Recent projects include Hilton, Marriott and IHG products as well, with a few more in the pipeline.
