Continuing its push to expand, WeWork ended last week by securing a lease for 75k SF in downtown San Jose, marking its first foray into the South Bay.

The co-working company (now valued at $15B) is taking four floors at Harvest Properties' The Towers @ 2nd at 75 E Santa Clara St. The move, anticipated at the end of last year, is expected to bring hundreds of entrepreneurs and freelancers into WeWork's space there, with offices and desks rented by the month, according to the San Francisco Business Times.

San Jose's downtown already has co-working company NextSpace, and TechShop is moving its maker concept into the old Zanotto's. WeWork will soon have six locations in San Francisco and one in Berkeley. [SFBT]
