Why Google, Apple Are Bullish on North San Jose

Placeholder

This has been a busy week for tech titans in North San Jose. Apple made a deal this week to buy a 70k SF R&D factory at 3725 N First St for $18.2M. Meanwhile, Google secured leases on two buildings totaling 174k SF.

Apple's new building will help to grow the company's presence in North San Jose. It's about three miles from where Apple could build a 4.15M SF campus of office and research space, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

The deal, and Google's leases, strengthen tech in the area, which already is home to Samsung's new headquarters on North First Street. [SJMN]
