The building, which overlooks Pop Keeney field, is named after Harold “Pop” Keeney, Bothell’s first football coach. It’s located near the Sammamish River slough and the Burke Gilman Trail. The eco-friendly building is designed to achieve U.S. Green Building Council LEED Gold certification, with flooring and carpet that meets the higher standards of improved air quality, low-VOC paint, Energy Star appliances and separate heating zones by space.

Bothell is known as a biosciences hub, in part because of its large tracts of flat land that were available at the time of its growth in that industry. It underwent a major downtown revitalization six years ago that included an innovation zone that now draws firms like Seattle Genetics and Phillips Ultrasound. The UW Bothell campus helps draw bioscience firms to the area.
