R.C. Hedreen Co. recently topped off the building podium for the new 1.4M SF Hyatt Regency Seattle. The property consists of a 37-story tower with 1,260 rooms and the podium, which will be eight stories tall and bisected at street level by a mid-block connector.

The podium will include 105K SF of meeting and ballroom space, along with a restaurant and the hotel's lobby.

One of the goals of the building is to activate the city at street level through a series of transparent spaces, including the lobby, porte cochère, restaurants, bars and shops, according to LMN Architects, which handled architecture, interiors and urban design for the structure.

Ground-level spaces are designed to spill out onto the landscaped sidewalks for a visual merger of inside and outside, LMN said. The hotel will be completed next year — as the largest hotel in the Pacific Northwest — and be LEED Gold.
