We thought The District was a bar near the University of Washington, but it's also short for the Downtown Historic Theatre District, subject of last week's HistoryLunch inside the beautiful Paramount Theatre. Mayor Mike McGinn, King County executive Dow Constantine, and several members of the King County Council showed up to toast and support the ACT, 5th Avenue, Paramount, Town Hall and Moore Theatre buildings. Above, we were delighted to meet Kimberly Brangwin, Roxann Malley, Judy Hademan and Rita Harris of Somewhere in Time, Unlimited, a club that sews period clothing for historic themed events about town. (They looked right at home inside the Paramount, which opened in 1928.) When not in costume, Kimberly and Rita work for CBB, and Judy devotes her time to the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County.
