A major senior housing project is coming to Fremont now that the city council has approved it and rezoning 23.2 acres from tech industrial to residential.

Fremont City Council approved Parc 55 from East Warren Park LLC (headed by developer John Wong), which would replace light industrial buildings off Mission Falls Court and Warm Springs Boulevard with a project that includes 497 housing units and a 15k SF city-owned senior center.

Of the housing, 90 apartments would be for low-income, very-low-income and extremely low-income seniors. Eden Housing is the partner on that part of the project, according to the Silicon Valley Business Journal.

The project also would include 169 market-rate rental apartments or condos, 90 for-sale townhomes, 80 detached homes and 68 additional condos. KTGY is designing the project. [SVBJ]
