Jay Paul Co has proposed four office buildings, totaling 1.3M SF, in Redwood City to cater to demand from tech companies looking for a home between Silicon Valley and San Francisco.
The plan still has to be approved by the city and some residents are concerned about environmental and quality of life impact. At a public hearing, residents said enlarging the office stock would exert pressure on housing prices and lead to traffic congestion, according to The Registry.
Representatives of the Build and Construct Trade Council of San Mateo and Sheet Metal Workers Union supported the project and the jobs it could create. [TR]
