Rental Market Drives Protests

This week on Earth Day, NAI NorCal president James Kilpatrick's speech was met by protesters lining up with biohazard suits. The bullhorn-toting folks locked arm-in-arm forming a human barrier to block James and others from talking about rental housing at the East Bay Rental Housing Association’s economic and legislative forum at Scott’s restaurant in Jack London Square.

At issue was one of the agenda topics around eviction regulations and practices, but perhaps they also took issue with James' prediction that this cycle has three to five years left to run. Things are hot as vacancies continue around the 3% range, with continued growth across rents, sales prices and refinances.
